Damla Seymen was born in Germany in 1997 and is also a member of the Western Thrace Turkish minority in Greece.
She started her undergraduate education 2015 with German Language and Literatur at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Literature.
In 2016 she changed her studies from German Language and Literature to law at Marmara University Faculty of Law. 2018 – 2019 she participated in the Erasmus program and studied at University of Cologne. In 2019 she started to study law at the University of Vienna and at the same time continued her law education at Marmara University Faculty of Law where she graduated from in 2021.
During her studies at Marmara University, she took an Introduction to German Criminal Procedure course given by the Max Planck Institute in 2018. In the same year, she wrote an article about the “Legalization of Cannabis”. During her Erasmus at the University of Cologne, she took amongst others following courses: Introduction to German Legal Terminology, Latin for Jurists, Introduction to German Private Law, Introduction to German Law of Obligations, Introduction to German Criminal Law, Introduction to German Constitutional Law, Introduction to EU and International Law. During her studies in Cologne she did an internship in a law firm working on Family Law, Foreigners Law and Refugee Law. In 2019 she completed the Latin Language Proficiency, which is compulsory for law education at the University of Vienna. She has a command of Turkish law and continues her studies at the University of Vienna in Austria.
Damla Seymen speaks fluent German and English.
